2018 annual check-in

Well, here we are, almost a year later, and not a single blog post. I guess so many other things have been a priority. Blog posts are such a huge effort, considering how easy social media makes it for people to quickly drop super short info bytes through Facebook and Instagram, among others. I guess the other reason I haven't felt a need to blog is my lack of creative output. I look back at all the crafting I used to do and all the free time I dedicated to it. Now, it seems I'm just finding the time to have a creative outlet again. Seems as if November is the usual time for me to stop and reflect and breathe before life speeds up again.

Anyway, updates.

My creative outlet...

Has been my planner. My EDC, or Every-Day-Carry, has been a Hobonichi Techo A6 planner from Japan. I love it so much, this will be the third year I have completed in this planner! I plan, list, bullet-journal, scrap book, draw and paint in there. It's a little gem of happiness that I carry around and jot in every day. Well, maybe not so little. It's been an obsession of supplies and multiple covers that keeps me going creatively, so much so, I've got them in my header photo. (2019 planner set-up coming soon!)

My daily life...

Has been mostly kids, work, home.
If I'm not at work I'm with my family, and vice versa. Home is an ongoing project. Things break, need fixing, need cleaning. Kids need help with homework, with costumes, with learning about themselves. Everyone has to be fed. 'Nuff said. If I'm too tired to cook, we're eating out. The house's messiness is directly proportional to our busy-ness!

Nursing is a big part of who I am now. It's slow going getting that creative vibe to take a bigger chunk of my life again. I believe it will come as my nurse brain becomes better trained and nursing becomes second nature.

My blogs...
Have been stagnant:
Old blog: www.subringas.com - the online shop named Oakwood is gone and the page is dead. I don't feel any need to buy back the domain. I finally figured out how to put it back up at a Blogspot URL. I'll be leaving it up as an archive. Subringas Designs is now here: https://subringas.blogspot.com/
I had to make a new page in order to disassociate from the old domain which is alive but only has one post. This will probably be the blog that will live on if any do. You can find it here: https://sucastle.blogspot.com/
My nursing blog never really took off. There's only a first post and a last post. I'll just leave that as well. It's here: https://subringas-sn.blogspot.com/

Well, enough for now. Sleep is too important. I'll probably back as I am planning on doing some lauhala weaving with a friend who wants to learn some time in the next few weeks. Planning on doing some bracelets and earrings. I also need to research how to make a stripper to process my leaves.

Happy Thanksgiving! If you are reading this, welcome back again, although to be honest I don't know when I'll write again. Please feel free to drop me a note.

Aloha!
Su
